The RRS was conceived on Runnin' Horns bus
trip to Houston to play the Cougars on Friday, January 28,
1994. After that trip, Michael Bos came back and discussed
the idea with John King. Scott Carmichael and some of the
other staff in the ticket office also decided to participate
(it is still up to debate if their participation was voluntary).
Coincidentally, that was the first time that Tim Keener,
who joined in 1995, met one of the RRS founders. Chuck and
Lee Clemence came on board in 1999, the only good result
of an an ill-advised career move made by the commissioner.
The 2002 RRS was voted to have had the best Awards Banquet.
The pictures are still available. |
The RRS: 2010 to the present

The RRS: 1998 - 2009
The RRS owners could only select a driver once per year. NASCAR's 36 races had the RRS owners to start cheering for who was going to finish 35th and 36th.

The RRS: 1994-1997
The RRS started by owners drafting 8 drivers each, scoring
the highest 6 at race. The owners could keep one driver for
the 2nd half where the drafting, trading and Bodine complaining
began again.
